Havana, Cuba_  US’ Embassy in Havana and its official page in Facebook promote the World Learning program denounced as illegal  and receptor of funds for the subversion against Cuba, Cubadebate publishes.

During a press conference in Havana , Deputy-director general for the United States at the Cuban Foreign Ministry Gustavo Machin confirmed that this project, strongly criticized by students and representatives of the civil society throughout all the Island,  is going to be one of the topics to be discussed by the Cuban delegation the meeting to be held this Friday in Washington.

Cuba treats this program and other associated to the projects for the change of régime in the Island, established since George W Bush's administration an with an annual budget of 20 million dollars through the diplomatic channels.

The reestablishment of diplomatic links was made on the basis of respect for sovereignty and equality. We have set up official channels for any kind of bilateral exchange, he remembered.

We reject the US’ Embassy promote this kind of program without the consent of our government, regardless the authorities and the diplomatic channels established for that” he said.and this is being done between Cub and the rest of diplomatic missions based in Havana.

Machin expressed that the communication between the US embassy and the Cuban Foreign Ministry

The diplomat explained that Cuba´s position is not contrary to the promotion of cooperation and exchange between the two countries, as he noted that "We are officially collaborating to implement a program proposed by the US embassy and the State Department about teaching English Language in Cuba and this project is working."

We insist that all this kind of collaboration would be carried out through the official channels”, he argued.
