Havana, Cuba_ The 40 anniversary of the constitution of the Provincial assemblies of the People’s Power was celebrated in several Cuban provinces this Sunday.

According to Radio Havana Cuba, Esteban Lazo, president of the Cuban Parliament presided over the solemn session in the capital, during which outstanding personalities received recognition for their professional performance as well as workers and delegates with more than three decades in that government’s body.

The head of the provincial assembly in Havana, Reynaldo García, highlighted that the Popular Power is a system of government in which the base is in the delegate of the municipality, an indispensable figure in the exchange process and the requirements of the population.

In that sense he made emphasis in the improvement of that structure of the Cuban political system, from which the mechanisms of civic participation are extended.

In Pinar del Rio, the meeting remembered the contribution of hundreds of men and women that are part of that body and who work in an active way, in the defense and concretion of the people’s rights.
