Havana, Cuba_ Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People's Power, pointed out the need to strengthen the work of the commissions, because they have to play a decisive role in the political, economic and social life of the country, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
During an exchange with the permanent commissions of the highest state power body to evaluate the work carried out in the second half of the current year and the projections for 2017, the also member of the Political Bureau of the Cuban Communist Party examined the tasks of control and inspection carried out by the deputies in several agencies of the Central Administration of the State, and pronounced for defending the functions of the constituency delegate and everything that favors a greater participation of the voters.
Ana Maria Mari Machado, vice president of the National Assembly of People's Power, mentioned advances and challenges in the area of social communication, a discipline considered essential at present to offer in time the necessary information and messages, according to deputies present in the meeting.
The economic issues related to the plan and the budget, the relation expenses-income, the saving, in particular the use of the energetic carriers, the efficiency of the business system and the compliance with what is established in the payment systems are among the priorities of work of the Cuban parliament’s committees for the next year.
Cuban deputies are currently working through territorial meetings and consultations around the Land Water Law Project, as part of their legislative function, prior to the next regular session in December.
