Havana, Cuba__ The Mambisa cavalry opened the military parade and popular march this morning in Havana’s Plaza de la Revolución, as a symbol of the struggles against the Spanish colonial rule, Cubadebate publishes.

A replica of the Granma yacht escorted by a sea of children, representing the guerrilla columns of the Sierra Maestra, commanded by Fidel Castro, and 90 students, representing the Cuban youth, recalling those who did the feat of ridding Cuba of illiteracy and a large group of internationalists followed the march.

A second block of several components of the FAR, the Ministry of the Interior and the Territorial Troop Militias, including military academic institutions, sections of the Western, Central and Eastern armies, the Tanks Division, the Special Troops, the Navy Revolutionary War and the Youth Labor Army continuous the parade.

The review is composed of three blocks: one historical, one popular and a third one in which representatives of the workers, students and the population in general will march.
