Havana, Cuba__ The National Union of Cuban Historians (UNHIC) will present recognition diplomas to a group of its founders who dedicated their lives to the defense of the national memory, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of that organization.

According to Radio Reloj among the central activities for the anniversary the organization will hold the meeting of the National Executive Committee, from today until tomorrow, to discuss the preparations of the VIII Congress, which will take place in the Cuban capital from next June 29 to July 1st.

Meanwhile, the National Ballet of Cuba, directed by Alicia Alonso, dedicated a function of the classic Cascanueces to the XXXIV anniversary of the founding of the Union of Historians.

Prior to the show yesterday, the president of the academic organization, Roberto Pérez, thanked the company and the Cuban assoluta balerina, historical symbols of the culture of the nation, for the kindness of that gesture.
