Havana, Cuba_ The vice president of Uruguay, Raul Sendic, will begin an official visit to this capital, as part of which he will hold talks with officials of the Cuban State and Government, Prensa Latina reports.

According to a note released in the digital portal of the Chancellery of the Caribbean island, Sendic comes at the head of the delegation of his country to participate in the XXV International Book Fair Cuba 2016.

Scheduled from 11 to 21 February in Havana, this year's most important literary event in Cuba has Uruguay as guest country of honor.

Member of the ruling Frente Amplio, Sendic was the running mate of the current Uruguayan President Tabaré Vázquez to the command for 2015-2020.

He previously held other executive positions in the country as president of the National Fuel, Alcohol and Portland (2010-2013) and as Minister of Industry (2009-2010).
