Havana__ The Third International Technology and Health Convention begins today in this capital, with the presence of delegates from six countries, who will promote the development of research in medical systems and services, reports Prensa Latina.

The event brings together professionals, technicians, students and directives from Chile, Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia, Peru and the host nation at Havana’s International Convention Center, the vice president of the event, María Lazo said.

The conclave will promote the scientific, pedagogical and methodological exchanges in the field of health technology, the youngest area of the medical sciences.

It also aims to establish cooperative relations between national and foreign institutions, as well as strengthen scientific, social and cultural ties.

The convention, which will be held until the 31st, under the motto “For Health, and Development Sustainability”, includes congresses, symposia, workshops, conferences and meetings covering various current topics such as Podology and Imaging Technology.

The agenda foresees a meeting to reactivate the Central American and Caribbean chapter of the International Network of Education of Health Technicians, in which national and foreign personalities will participate.

In addition, an exhibition associated with technologies, projects and experiences in the development of the area of new creation in the Island will open its doors from this Monday.

The head of the department of Science and Technological Innovation of the Faculty of Health Technology highlighted the presence of prestigious specialists who has taught courses prior to the event, which will take place during this week.

As a background, the first and second edition of the convention, held in 2009 and 2014, respectively, encouraged the creation of spaces for scientific and academic exchange among professionals, technicians and students.
