La Paz_ The Cuban ambassador to Bolivia, Benigno Pérez, condemned the campaign organized today against Venezuela in the Organization of American States (OAS) to expel the country from the organization or give a legal warning to an intervention, which would be a serious mistake, Prensa Latina reports.
What the OAS is doing is embarrassing and will remain a further stain on the history of that despicable organization against the Venezuelan people, the diplomat said in an interview in the TV show Tres en LÃnea on Bolivia TV.
On Monday, some countries of that body held a special session to address the Venezuelan issue, despite the fact that Bolivia, the current president of its Hemispheric Council, had suspended the meeting because the call was unconstitutional.
The fact was described as an institutional coup in the Organization of American States to prevent Bolivia from exercising the presidency and a disregard for all international standards.
What happened is part of a campaign against Venezuela that has been brewing for years, led by the United States government, the Cuban diplomat warned.
There is no doubt that what they want is to end in any way with one of the countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), he said.
