Havana__ The second stage of the 56th National Anti-Polio Vaccination Campaign begins today in Cuba until April 21, Granma newspaper reports.

In the week, a second dose will be given to 363,778 infants of one month old to the age of one year, 11 months and 29 days, who received the first dose in February, explained Lena López, program chief on the island.

Likewise, 108 thousand 110 children of nine years of age will be immunized with a dose.

Regarding that campaign, the official called on the parents to go to the vaccinations departments during those days, that coincides with the week of school recess.

According to Lena, all health areas in the country have the human and material resources to implement the program.

López informed the press that from April 24 to 28, recovery activities are to be carried out for children who, due to problems, could not be vaccinated.
