Cuba_ Dr. Lena López Ambrón, responsible for the Immunization Program of the Ministry of Public Health, announced that the Vaccination Campaign against Seasonal Influenza will start next July 28th, Prensa Latina reports.
The official explained that on this occasion one million 40 thousand doses will be administered to infants, from six months to children under two years, and to all pregnant women.
The program includes the population over 75 years of age; people institutionalized in nursing homes, grandparents' homes and psych pedagogical centers, which will be vaccinated in the institutions.
The immunogenic will be applied to people with Chronic Renal Failure, asthmatics and type I diabetics from 18 to 24 years, patients older than 18 years with cerebral palsy and cystic fibrosis, chronic psychiatric, hospitalized, and workers in the poultry and Livestock.
Until September 30 will be extended the campaign that aims to reduce serious morbidity by influenza and mortality from pneumonia in selected groups.
