Havana, Cuba_ The 15th International Dengue Course opened today in this capital and will be extended until August 18, at Pedro Kouri Tropical Medicine Institute (IPK) with the participation of Cuban and foreign experts centered on the debate on the current epidemiological situation in Latin America and the world, Prensa Latina reports

The international meeting aims the health authorities, along with academicians and foreign institutions, to debate the most relevant and current aspects on Aedes aegypti mosquito-borne diseases, including zika, chikungunya and yellow fever, as well as dengue fever.

The participants will have the opportunity to discuss other different issues such as clinical management of patients, vector control, pathogenesis research advances, vaccines, antivirals, genetics and new control tools.

Lecturers will also deepen the influence of climate change on the emergence of Aedes mosquito-borne diseases and the combat of outbreaks, the report added.
