Cuba_ The national secretariat of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution decided that this year, the celebrations for the 57th anniversary of the organization will be dedicated to the recovery in Cuba after the path of Hurricane Irma, Radio Reloj reports. 

Betty Oria González, head of the idealogical sphere of the CDR, congratulated the more than eight million members and added that the traditional celebrations of September 27 in anticipation of 28, will be transformed into political acts of revolutionary reaffirmation.

The commemoration will also be a scenario that the cederistas will use to denounce the blockade held by the US government during more than half a century against Cuba and to respond to the threats of President Donald Trump to the Cuban territory in his discourse at the United Nations.

Oria Gonzalez said that in the festivities they will recognize those families that sheltered neighbors in their homes during the hurricane and others who now lend their homes as a classroom.

They will also stimulate numerous committees that in a record time declared themselves clean and embellished after the work of recovery, and of course, cederistas who stood out throughout the year.

Due to the situation facing the country today, the national leadership of the largest mass organization will not request resources from the government for the festivities, in order to avoid expenses and to use these funds in the recovery of the national territory.
