Havana, Cuba_ The National Organization of Collective Lawyers’ Offices will analyze today the major difficulties affecting their performance during the development of the General Assembly, its highest governing body, Radio Havana Cuba publishes.

Lilian Maria Hernandez Doejo, vice president of the Board, said that they will also discuss the issues affecting legal services as well as the needs and perspectives of the legal profession in Cuba.

"It is not enough to study the contracts by the statistics and assess which their challenges to the legal service are, because the reality transcends the traditional framework of the real and effective defense of the criminal, civil and labor law," Hernandez Doejo said.

"Today the discussion intends to deepen in the preparation of other laws branches as banking, tax, trade, and foreign investment," she explained.

She also pointed out about the Law related to property ownership and the legal advice to domestic and foreign legal entities, because they are facing new and complex scenarios.

"We have a group of excellent lawyers and others, due to geographical reasons never attend certain issues or lack some preparation, they may be inserted into the postgraduate course of Legal Counsel recently launched in this capital that is taught in all the country's universities from the year ongoing,” she said.

According to the vice president the topic related with the Ethics will focus part of the discussions because they need to know what is happening within the organization and how it affects the quality of the services, because the technical preparation is not worthy if it is not accompanied by an efficient attention.

Therefore, she said, they will know about some unfortunate events occurred during the last period.

Economic, investment, insurance, internal control, information technology issues and the need to further enhance the institutional communication will be discussed in the various working committees.

"The report of the Accountability Board to the Assembly will be very acute and will address the most common and troubling issues for the legal profession," she said.
