Artemisa, Cuba_ The work staff of the Máximo Gómez Báez Thermoelectric Plant, in the municipality of Mariel, western province of Artemisa, closes the current year with the condition of National Vanguard, in recognition of its remarkable results, Radio Reloj publishes.

The plant that generates electricity to the country's electric power system since 1963, has two substations that provide more than 100 gigawatts and seeks to overcome the generating quality.

In the present year the thermoelectric of Mariel surpassed a million 712 thousand megawatt of generation with a consumption of more than 285 gallons of fuel by kilowatt hour.

During the current year, 104 million pesos were invested to improve the efficiency and generation levels of the Máximo Gómez Báez plant, which links the western provinces of Artemisa and Pinar del Río with the national system.
