Mayabeque, Cuba_ Güines’ athlete Lianna de la Caridad Montero was selected to integrate the women's fight pre-selection for the twenty-third Central American and Caribbean Games of Barranquilla 2018.  

In the regional competition, organized at the Sports City Coliseum, Montero reached the bronze medal.

She lost In her first two performances and so the right to discuss the golden medal, while in the fight for the bronze she beat the Colombian Haydee Cuero eight by zero.

Lianna will be escorted to Colombia by Yakelín Stornell, Hangelen Llanes, Mabelkis Capote, Lilianet Duanes and Yusneylys Guzmán

The group, led by Professor Filiberto Delgado, achieved six medals distributed in three subtitles and an equal number of third places.

With these tickets, and unofficially, the Island already has 463 athletes approved for the regional festival of the coming summer.

Cuba, Colombia, Mexico and Puerto Rico achieved complete teams of six, while Venezuela reached five places, three Nicaragua and Panama and two Honduras and the Dominican Republic.
