Mayabeque, Cuba_ Disabled athletes from Mayabeque will compete during the month of March in several national competitions organized by the Cuban Association of Physical-Motor Limits, (ACLIFIM), and the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, INDER.
Pastora Vatt and María Antonia de Armas Sánchez will compete in the national weightlifting, scheduled for Villa Clara province, from March 21 to 23.
For his part, Yunelkis de Armas Rivero, who also trains at the Nelson Fernández complex in San José de las Lajas, under the watchful eye of Wilfredo Justi, will fight in the National Football Championship to be played in Havana, between the 27th and 29.
The competitive event for people with disabilities also includes sports shooting and athletics.
The first one will be held in Sanct Spiritus and the Güineros, Regla Hernández and Jorge Frank Rocas must compete while the second will take place in Villa Clara and Mayabeque will be represented by Yunaiky Lebranch Castellano from Quivicán, specialist in the launching of the disc and impulsion of the bullet.
Although the organizers have not announced the official date yet, also in the third month of the year Carlos Gabriel Diaz, Leiva classified for the Parapan Am games, will compete in the Table Tennis Cup Remedios, in the municipality of Villa Clara of the same name.
Finally, Batabano’s Nelson Solar will be the only representative of Mayabeque in the national competition of athletics of the ANCI, to be developed in coming days, in Camagüey. Solar, member of the national pre-selection, will compete in the 100 and 200 meters.
