Mayabeque, Cuba_ The young athlete, from Mayabeque, Roberto Luis Fernández Savigne, will represent Cuba in the World Olympics of Special Education to be held next month in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates.
The 17 years of age boy from Güines, integrates the small athletic group to the aforementioned world fight, as a specialist in speed events of 100 and 200 meters.
Roberto LuÃs began to stand out in these Olympics held last year in Matanzas, where he won gold medals, in long jump with push and the 4 to 100 metres relay, besides the silver in the one hundred meters.
The sprinter began, in the king of the sports, at 11 years of age with Pedro Gamboa, who continues training him, in close and stable student-teacher bond and already shows remarkable progress in his sporting performance.
He is currently studying at the Special School Heroes de la Patria and linked to the Cuba-Nicaragua Workshop School, both in his native Güines.
From this Thursday he will join the rest of the delegation at the Solidarity with Panama School of the Cuban capital, where they will concentrate to complete the preparation, he said.
This Friday, March 1st, in the Sports City of Havana, they will carry out the flag ceremony of the Cuban delegation and on Thursday, the seven will leave for the headquarters in the Arab nation until the return on the 23rd of the same month.
