Mayabeque, Cuba_ Researchers from the National Center for Agricultural Health (CENSA) held a workshop led by the Doctor in Sciences Maria de los Angeles Martinez Rivero, as part of the second stage of the project on biological control. 

The meeting was held at Las Piedras farm, with the participation of farmers and workers linked to the Cooperativa de Credits y Servicios (CCS) Efraín Mayor.

The work session was the propitious space to present the project, whose objective is the use of biological controls as alternatives for the management of pests and achieve the reduction of the irrational use of chemical products that attempt against the conservation of the environment.

At the meeting Doctor of Sciences Margarita Ceballos gave a lecture with the topic: Indiscriminate Use of Chemical Pesticides. There were other presentations on applied studies on the farm and the results of the survey conducted at the beginning of the same.

The meeting concluded with a fruitful exchange among those present, where they raised the main concerns of the farmers regarding their crops and the future of the habitat on their farms.
