Mayabeque, Cuba_ Young workers of the Institute of Animal Science (ICA), located in Mayabeque, intensify the research work, to contribute to the development and transfer of the best and most cost-effective technologies in the field of tropical animal production.
Yodanis Real GarcĂa, member of the Scientific Council at ICA, highlighted the work of the new generation, related to the agricultural production and the technical, economic and environmental sustainability of the production chains, local development and food security.
He further said that through the research, the extension and the collaboration, the young scientists promote investigations to introduce, obtain and evaluate pastures, forages and other crops.
Projects to substitute imports and validate the results of implementing national mineral sources for animal feed, by Moses Valera Among are among the outstanding works in the economic sphere.
At the same time, the youth of the entity, aim their actions to the obtaining and characterization of supplies and additives, as well as nutrition and management of ruminants and mono gastric.
Other research tasks are aimed at improving and characterization of animal genetic resources for sustainable systems of milk, meat and eggs production, in order to contribute to the progress of the Cuban nation.
Real Garcia added that these works are based on statistics, as science applied to mathematics and agricultural production.
