Mayabeque, Cuba_ The Western Zonal Athletics Championships, 10-11 Years category will take place from today untill 15th of this month in San Jose de las Lajas, with the participation of the provinces of Cienfuegos, Villa Clara, Matanzas and Mayabeque.
The province's team of 12 competitors, six of each sex, is formed by the girls Yanieska Osorio, Nueva Paz, Yesenia de la Caridad Oviedo from Guines and and Zulia Caridad Aliaga, from Madruga.
The sextet is completed by Daylene Moreno, Yilian Mederos and Nereidis de la Caridad Gonzalez, all from Batabanó.
Lasier Prieto, Michel Fajardo, Alejandro Gomez, Brayan Samon, from Melena del Sur, Nueva Paz, San José de las Lajas and Batabanó respectively besides Luis Yunier CasÃn and Jonathan López both from Madruga from, are included in the male group.
According to Julio Heredia Durruti said, senior specialist, the techniques test are going to be carried out on Wednesday and during Thursday and Friday all the athletes will compete in the six modalities scheduled.
The Nelson Fernandez sports complex in Mayabeque’s capital will host the track and field competitions of the young athletes of the four provinces.
