Mayabeque, Cuba_ Members of the Workers' Central Union of Cuba (CTC) in the province, carry out a program of activities until next August 23 to celebrate the 56 years of the creation of the Cuban Women Federation (FMC y its Spanish initials, the digital site of Mayabeque newspaper publishes.

The actions include exchanges with females belonging to different sectors of the territorial economy and non-state workers.

According to Ismaris Diaz, provincial secretary of the CTC, the main objective is to recognize the work of women, especially young and heroines of labor, because their contribution to the process of economic and social renovation undertaken by the Island.

"There is an increase in the number of females that are union leaders and cadres, in relation to other stages of history. Important sectors like the Food, Sugar and Transport, are at the vanguard in this aspect”, the leader added.

The women of the territory are engaged in the battle for the country's progress and reaffirm their commitment to the homeland, the Revolution and Socialism, this May 1st.

The FMC implements policies aimed at achieving equality and emancipation of Cuban women in any field. To this end, they have the purpose of achieving a closer link of youth with the tasks of the organization, improving the functioning of the base structures and strengthen the political and ideological work.
