Mayabeque, Cuba_ The National Bio-preparations Center (BioCen), located in Bejucal, carries out a group of biotechnological and pharmaceutical research to contribute to the prevention of neurodegenerative diseases. 

Since 2015 this entity, belonging to BioCubaFarma, has the collaboration of scientists such as Dr. Yenel García Hernández, assistant researcher at the institution, who works with a team in the non-clinical stage, dedicated to testing animals in laboratories, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.

Following its own methodology, it is elaborated taking into account the experiences of several batteries of tests applied to mice for the production of laboratory animals, with allows valuing future treatments.

She added that the acquisition of the equipment also suffers the effect of the United States blockade against Cuba, that is why they must develop mouse training methodologies with specialists looking for solutions from the use of recovered materials.

Bio-Cen works on the preparation of protein hydrolysates from food byproducts and non-traditional sources for their use as restorative and supplements.

As an effect of the investigations in this section of restoratives, it was obtained the natural and ant anemic solution, Trofín, a unique product with satisfactory results in its application to the elderly, high performance athletes, children, and convalescents, among others.
