Mayabeque, Cuba__ The Provincial Assembly of People's Power is carrying out a community strategy of exchange with the people to bring the provincial structures closer to the base and expand the participatory mechanisms in the government activities.

According to Doris Marrero Fleitas, assistant director of the Provincial presidency, they conduct public hearings and debates in the different neighborhoods of the constituencies, where they carry out issues of collective interest.

During these meetings the population is informed about the details of the experiment being carried out in Mayabeque with the delimitation of functions, besides the hygienic and sanitary situation, the collection of solid waste and the impact of social indiscipline.

"In the constituency 26, of Rio Hondo community, at the People's Council of the same name, in Bejucal, the health specialists gave lectures about alcohol abuse and its risks," Olimpia Quintana Justiz, assistant director for the communicative sphere in Bejucal government, explained.
