Mayabeque, Cuba_ Workers from the National Center for Agricultural Health (CENSA), located in San Jose de las Lajas, commemorated the Day of the Veterinary Medicine.
The day was marked by a master conference given by the DrC. José Miguel Millar Barrueco, who evoked the ideas of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz to develop veterinary studies in Cuba since 1959.
"A center of the highest level must be created at any cost and a suitable first-line technical team capable of anticipating, ruling and facing any livestock disease. It must have all the necessary laboratories for diagnosis, the study of infections, the production of vaccines, medicines”, Millar Barrueco said.
"The function of the center would be investigative, not operational, that would carry forward the veterinary institute. The name must be searched carefully ", were some of the indications given by the leader of the Cuban Revolution to the Doctor of Science.
Also attending the activity were Doctors in Science Niurka Prague, host of Fidel's ideas on the genetic improvement of bovine cattle on the Island and Lidia Margarita Tablada, founder of CENSA.
In the activity retired personalities and founders of the institute with significant scientific contributions in dissimilar investigations received recognition.
