Mayabeque, Cuba_ Sport is a right of the people. The National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), with satisfaction and honor, will be celebrating tomorrow 58 years of life, in the midst of the improvement of what has been achieved so far, new goals and joys.

The INDER realized what Fidel expressed that February 23, 1961, at the close of the National Plenary of the Voluntary Councils, another of the great forces of the sports movement in Cuba.

The indisputable validity of the thinking of the senior athlete, the father of Cuban sport, officially began that day, when, with a privileged long-range vision, he pointed out the importance of the creation of the institute.

Beyond high performance, physical education and recreation are permanent tasks, as it guarantees health and quality of life.

Rich are the experiences with gymnastics for pregnant women, and of the mother with the child, the Cubaila, the exercises in the nursery circles, the primary, secondary and pre-university schools, as well as in the circles of grandparents.

The recovery and maintenance of the facilities of the base and the high performance are tasks prioritized in 2019 for the direction of the INDER, which already give the expected results.

The greatest commitment for the Cuban sports movement this year is the Pan American Games in Lima in Peru, a date that becomes complex and demanding for athletes on the island, but courage and love for the country inspires, motivates and pushes.
