Mayabeque, Cuba_ The Vice President of the Council of Ministers, Ulises Rosales del Toro, met with breeders of Mayabeque, as part of the governmental visit carried out to this province.

In the meeting, which took place in the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences (INCA), the leader pointed out the need to increase the production of animal feed and the confrontation to the drought with intelligent solutions, taking into account the teachings of Fidel Castro.

He also called for an in-depth analysis of what was expressed by the Cuban president, Miguel Diaz Canel, in the recently conducted assessment of agriculture, where he stressed the importance of livestock and food production.

At another time of the meeting, Rosales del Toro, referred to the importance of preparing young people and mentioned the unity among producers, as a way to solve problems.

Present, also at the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, José Miguel Rodríguez de Armas, offered extensive information on the actions carried out in the country, to ensure the feeding of livestock, with the projection of planting this year 686 thousand 769 hectares of pasture and fodder and more than 7 thousand hectares of protein plants.

Before concluding their meeting, Ulises Rosales del Toro, motivated them to encourage the breeding of small livestock, especially in cooperatives, as another important step in the livestock recovery of the area.
