Mayabeque, Cuba_ A delegation composed of six specialists represents Mayabeque in the ninth International Congress of Psychiatry (PsiqCuba 2019), which began at the Havana Convention Center and will run until the 15th of this month.

The delegation is composed by Drs. Idalberto Aguilar Hernández and Julián Rivero Batista, Marta Alba Pérez Valdés, Ana Delia Sánchez and Maite Domínguez Pérez and the President of the Mayabeque Chapter, in the Cuban Society of Psychiatry and Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of this demarcation, Doctor Ernesto Rodríguez Cárdenas.

Around 100 specialists from America, Europe and Australia participate in the conclave where they will debate mainly on the frontiers against new technologies.

In this sense, the physicians of the youngest province will speak about the behavior of suicidal behavior in the municipality of Nueva Paz, as well as affective disorders and dual pathology.

The scientific program includes conferences, symposiums, round tables and poster presentations on topics ranging from mental health to emergencies and disasters, forensic psychiatry and rehabilitation.

During the meeting, they will honor posthumously all the psychiatrists who made possible the development of the specialty in Cuba and will deliver several awards as the lifetime achievement prize, as well as recognitions to those with more than 30 years of career.

Children of the group Son y Punto, belonging to the Children Repentismo Workshops of the Casa de la Décima de Mayabeque made a performance in the opening ceremony of the event.
