Mayabeque, Cuba_ From the waves of the ether, the voice of a teacher turned into editor-reporter of the press comes to our homes.

We can see, the Master in Sciences Olga Lidia Gómez Ramos, walking slowly, sweet voice and at the same time energetic when circumstances need it, and with her always the journalistic sense to reveal the news from the South of Mayabeque.

Today is the Day of the Cuban Press, about the date we honor journalists and this woman for the work she performs.

Her career as a journalist is linked to her profession as a literature teacher.

"The teacher is there, in the need to educate through the radio, not only through the news, but also through the history of life, from people's daily experiences and that can be a model to be followed by the rest of the listeners”, Gómez Ramos said.

Radio Mayabeque has had the opportunity to act as a professor, since she teaches a module of the Diploma Course in Journalism, sponsored by the Agrarian University of Havana and the UPEC.

"In this communication media I have learned to use simple language, but I always try to use the correct words, I love daily events to recreate them in images, to put my experiences and those of other individuals”, she said.

The teacher, as many call her affectionately, has a high commitment to the Revolution and she had multiplied on the radio.

"Through journalism we get to all citizens and we transmit messages that ratify the continuity of the revolutionary process and we put our strength to bring the truth to the world”, she said.
