According to the data provided by the National Office of Statistics and Information (ONEI), in that town the number of marital dissolutions amounts to 78, a number that considerably exceeds those that occurred during previous annual periods.

This is one of the highest records of the last 10 years in the municipality, when tripling the figure.

Studies show that the highest rate of divorce among females occurs when they marry at an early age, between 15 and 25 years, while in men that trend is between 20 and 30 years, as confirmed by the worker of the ONEI, Yaquelín Martínez: "The great majority of divorces is because couples do not have enough maturity or responsibility to start a family."
