Mayabeque, Cuba: Gustavo Machín Hoed Nonmetallic Mineral Processing Plant, in Jaruco, deserved the headquarters this October 24 of the provincial event for the Day of the Geological Mining Worker.
The First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) of Mayabeque, Yanina de la Nuez Aclich was present at the event; as well as authorities of the PCC of the province and the municipality, the Cuban Workers Federation and the Government.
Past, present and future were combined in the celebration of the day of the mining geologist in Gustavo Machín, where six of the most outstanding workers of the three Base Business Units (UEB) of the GEOMINSAL Group in the demarcation were recognized.
The collective of this plant founded by Fidel, on January 5, 1968, up to date with the merit of accumulating 5 thousand liters of paint produced so far this year.
This secondary line was introduced a year ago to underpin the economy of the plant, affected by the continuous breaks of the calcination furnace and other obsolete equipment.
Although the yields of its leading productions: lime, magnesite, bentonite and mortar, are below what was agreed, the painting and the elaboration of blocks fulfill the expectations.
The engineer Jorge Lázaro Múlet Álvarez recalled the founding era of the factory designed to produce cement at the beginning.
According to Múlet Álvarez, they will continue working to contribute to local development, the housing program and the reduction of imports, with the effort and ingenuity of the workers.
He announced that the future will be promising for this UEB of the Western Mining Company, once the planned investment is executed.
