Mayabeque, Cuba: The poem “Havana 500 years later” of Juan Carlos García Guridi, from Mayabeque, won the prize of the Tenth Wing Group, in the Sixth contest Ciudad Poesía.
Sponsored by the cultural project La letra en rosa “The letter in pink”, the meeting was based at the Alma Máter bookstore cultural center, in the Cuban capital.
The jury of the contest was integrated by the poets Pedro Péglez González, Giselle Lucía Navarro and Rolando Ávalos Díaz.
Juan Carlos García Guridi, cultivates poetry in the most dissimilar ways, but writes and improvises the Decima, with great rigor and elegance.
In addition to being a poet, Guridi is a critic and literary researcher, currently carrying out management functions in the sphere of the book and literature in of Mayabeque.
