Mayabeque, Cuba: In Mayabeque the present and future of the peasant tradition is assured, children belonging to the El Punto Cubano project, from the Casa de la Décima won prizes in the Eduardo Saborit national interpretation contest, of the Cuban Television program, Palmas y Cañas.
In the category of Repentismo, Mayra de la Caridad Cruz deserved the first prize, while Brayan Alejandro Iglesias occupied the second place.
Meanwhile, Silianay Ulloa Campos won the First and Grand Prix in tunes followed by Yenifert Piloto López who won the second place in that specialty.
The contest that takes place since 4 years ago, is a space that promotes the young talents, cultivators of the Punto Cubano point as a maximum expression, in addition to the controversy, repentismo, improvisation and tunes.
