Mayabeque, Cuba: More than 30 students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Agrarian University Fructuoso RodrÃguez Pérez, of Mayabeque, integrate the Animal Welfare Group, with the objective of contributing to the protection of various species.
According to a report of Radio Camoa, these students, together with workers, periodically carry out Campaigns to Sterilize dogs and cats in order to avoid unwanted births, which sometimes results in abandonment to pets.
The Doctor in Veterinary Medicine Natacha Núñez, organizer of the Animal Welfare Group of the House of High Studies of the province, said that these students improve their professional preparation for the future, through the community actions they perform.
They also raise awareness among animal owners about the responsibility of caring for their pets for any disease.
