Mayabeque, Cuba_ The people of San Nicolás paid tribute, this November 13, to the martyr José Luis García Lima, on the 59th anniversary of his murder, in Maffo, Contramaestre. 

From the headquarters of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, on a pilgrimage to the municipal cemetery, the inhabitants of this territory deposited a floral offering to the Habanero, as his fighting companions affectionately called him.

In addition, in the different centers of the locality they developed special morning programs to remember his revolutionary trajectory.

José Luis García Lima, martyr of San Nicolás, was a guerrilla, tireless fighter of the independence struggle, active member of the July 26 Movement, who fought in the Sierra Maestra under the orders of Juan Almeida Bosque.

According to those who were linked to the young guerrilla, the courage and bravery characterized him in the different combats in which he participated.

In 1958, a murderous bullet threw his life in an ambush in the town of Maffo.
