Mayabeque, Cuba_ More than 623.5 MWH per month saves the province thanks to the use of new technologies in the field of renewable energy, an alternative that makes it possible to considerably reduce air pollution and favors the environment.
According to the Mayabeque newspaper, the greatest progress is in the assembly of solar heaters, with a total of 21, of them 16 in the Medical Sciences Faculty, located in Güines, one in the Batabanó Cebadero Military Farm and four in the Elders Home in San José de las Lajas.
With this type of sources, Mayabeque saves an equivalent to 2 112 tons of fuel monthly, although it is rather incipient and requires greater attention and commitment, in addition to participation of companies, agencies and other State entities.
The application of renewable sources in order to achieve greater results throughout 2018, constitutes a directive included in the Guidelines of the VI Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and contemplates the installation of solar heaters, photovoltaic panels to generate electricity and other alternative means that save energy carriers.
