Mayabeque, Cuba_ The municipality of Batabanó will be part of the study sample of an important agroecological project aimed at reducing the use of pesticides in potato plantations and thus achieve a healthier product for human health.

The project will begin to take form with the visit of coordination of a Swedish delegation of agronomists to the Agricultural Company of the territory.

Doctor in Sciences Nilda Pérez Consuegra, Professor at the Agrarian University of Havana Fructuoso Rodríguez, informed that the project aims to determine pesticide residues in the potato and in the soils where the tuber was grown.
