Mayabeque, Cuba_ On December 22, Fidel Castro Ruz declared Cuba a territory free of illiteracy, a transcendental event for the emerging revolutionary process that was accomplished thanks to the massive literacy campaign carried out on the Island, with thousands of young people at the forefront. 

Today is the Day of the Educator and the country pays tribute to teachers and celebrates the universal access of the Cuban people to the different levels of education.

Naireiliys Ramos Izquierdo works at Círculo de Sueños de Camilo in the municipality of Güines and has been linked to the profession for 19 years.

The legacy of Fidel Castro will be valid in the work of each teacher, who will have his thought in mind as a guide for all social work and the Cuban Revolution, says Ramos Izquierdo.

With enthusiasm and joy the children of Sueños de Camilo Daycare of the municipality of Güines show their affect and love for their educators on this special day.
