Mayabeque, Cuba_ Madruga foresees a closing of 2017 with the infant mortality rate in 4 per thousand live births, one of the lowest in the last five years and the most important achievements of the sector in the year that ends. 

Despite the obstacles imposed by the US Blockade on the Maternal and Child Health Program, the results achieved are superior, explained Ania Martínez, director of public health in the territory.

The municipality adopts measures to make rational use of medicines, medical supplies and equipment, which allows providing a quality service to the population.

In response to the economic and financial siege, the health workers develop initiatives and the capacity and talent of the medical professionals in Mayabeque is put into practice.

In addition, a group of workers joined the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (ANIR) to provide solutions to material and scientific problems.

In this way they bet on the development of a sector that is one of the main achievements of the Revolution and that this year in Madruga has guaranteed high levels of life and quality.
