Mayabeque, Cuba_ The call for the International Symposium “In Canoe towards a Culture of Nature” to be held from June 25 to 28 of this year in Havana, was presented at the Fructuoso Rodríguez Agrarian University in San José de las Lajas.
This event is aimed at sharing the legacy of Dr. Antonio Núñez Jiménez, as part of the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the canoe expedition, from the Amazon to the Caribbean.
The objectives of this meeting are to highlight this figure, through different aspects, make viable the main achievements of his expedition and socialize experiences of exploration and travel in search of connections between nature, peoples and cultures.
The papers to be presented should be based on the following thematic axes: the study, homage, remembrance of the life and work of Dr. Antonio Núñez Jiménez; the legacy and transcendence of his expedition 30 years later; the reedition of the same from the science, the arts and the connections of the Greater Caribbean with the rest of America.
