Mayabeque, Cuba_ In the frame of the activities for the Museums’ World Day it was re-opened in Mayabeque an exhibition in San Nicolás' museum, dedicated to Marta Arjona, outstanding artist of the visual arts very involved with the people of that town.

The transitory room of that institution stores in these moments the collection of pictures, cuttings of newspapers and magazines, titles, recognitions, distinctions and other awards granted to the artist in different moments of her life and work to the service of the cultural Cuban patrimony.

Juan Manuel González Rondón head of the department of patrimony of the Provincial Directorate of Culture expressed that it is an honor for that people to expose so wonderful collection of Arjona who dedicated time to San Nicolas’ inhabitants in another time.

“I consider opportune to choose San Nicolás to show Marta's artistic values once again, González Rondón added.

The activity, of vital importance for the nicolaseños, began with a cultural activity in charge of amateurs artists of the territory, at the time a plate decorated by the artist and given to Vera María Pis’ family was being exposed.

At the end of the activity they recognized the work carried out by the workers of the Museum for the preparation of the exhibition.
