Mayabeque, Cuba_ The first houses built with alternative materials of local production were concluded in Mayabeque, program that stimulates the investment process in Mayabeque to favor the development.

The properties built in the municipality of Madruga, pioneer in the activity, have walls of blocks and pebble with concrete cover and the necessary conditions to guarantee the comfort of the residents, in this case people favored with the grant of subsidies.

At present, other houses are being built using materials of local production, elements produced in Madruga, under the direction of the managerial unit of base of constructive maintenance and the support of self-employed workers.

The purpose is to extend the experience toward other municipalities of Mayabeque, to improve the housing level and the quality of life of the neediest.

According to the residents’ opinions, the quality of the local productions of the construction materials is good, and they refer to the affordable prices in comparison with those coming from the industry, which facilitates that more families can carry out actions to repair their houses.
