Mayabeque_ With the beginning of the Cold Sowing Campaign in Melena del Sur, the province was declared ready to face the present agricultural season 2017-2018, Radio Reloj reports.
Each September the country is at the beginning of the cold sowing campaign, which brings great benefits to the people and to the economy of the Caribbean nation.
Alcides Troncoso Pérez, director of the Business Unit of Base of Integral Technical Services, promoted the exchange to improve the deficiencies of the last campaign and to elevate the results in the red ferralitic soils of the Cuban West.
Troncoso Perez said that they allocate almost 6 thousand hectares to achieve effective planting of vegetables, grains for essential products such as potato, tomato, bean and maize with which substitutes imports.
In Melena del Sur, the heavy and light machine platoons are ready where workers with their own means and other spare parts keep their technical equipment for the campaign.
