Mayabeque, Cuba: The activities of the Week of the Canary Culture, in Mayabeque, will begin with the laying of a floral offering before the bust of José Martí, located in the park of the same name in the municipality of Güines.

According to the president of the Canary Society Leonor Pérez, of the province, Marleni Felicia Labrada, these actions will take place from the next May 23 until May 30.

"On this day will be two Canarian citizens, who travel from Spain to deliver a book on an investigation of Canarian emigration in Cuba, specifically in the locality of Güinera," Labrada said.

This society has 949 members, including grandparents, children and grandchildren descended from these islands belonging to Spain. The associates are grouped in base bodies located in municipalities of the province, but Melena del Sur and San Nicolás.
