Mayabeque, Cuba_ Repentistas and singers of the spinela in this province are part of the Cuban delegation that participates in the seventh Festival of Decimistas and Versadores of Latin America and the Caribbean whose final day will be today in Valleys City, in the Mexican state of San Luis PotosÃ.
As part of the activities, last Friday they carried out, in the main square of that city, the poetic dialogue with the participation of the güinero José Enrique Paz Esquivel, Director of the Ibero-American Center of the Decima and the Improvised Verse, CIDVI, Guillermo Velázquez and The Lions of Sierra of Xichú from Mexico.
At noon this Saturday, another güinero, Lázaro Palenzuela, director of the House of the Decima and the Improvised Verse in Mayabeque, will present the book The Golden Century of Repentismo in Cuba, in the Cabildos Saloon of the municipal presidency of Valley City.
Delegations of Puerto Rico, Panama, Venezuela, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Colombia and Basque country are participating in this seventh Festival of Decimistas and Versadores of Latin America and Caribbean.
As part of the festival, there are being carried out development and improvement workshops of the verse, activities to bring the public close to the rhyme and popular poetry, presentations of books and didactic concerts.
Previous to this appointment took place in the Aztec nation, the eighth Ibero-American Day of Children and Young Poets, Trouveurs and Versadores, in the states of Querétaro, Guanajuato and San Luis PotosÃ.
The members of the children’s workshop of repentismo of Mayabeque also attended that event.
