Mayabeque, Cuba_ The Territorial Branch of Artex-Mayabeque. Artemisa, carried out the first edition of the gastronomic cultural festival, in the capital of the youngest province in the country.

The event was attended by workers of the cultural centers La Colum and Cuatro Esquinas, both from San José de las Lajas, Charangas of Bejucal, Puerto Luna from Mariel and students of the provincial trade and gastronomy school.

Specialists of the competition stood out the high professional level of the participants.

In the tavern category the winner was Yusdiel Rodríguez García, worker of La Columna, while in cooking the first place was for Maidelys Valdés Valdés and in saloon technics, the prize went to Maikel Calderín Rodríguez, also from the Cuatro Esquinas.

According to Daniel Novoa Esquivel, treasurer of the National Association of Barmen and director of the Cuban school of Bartenders who acted as president of the jury, the event fulfill its didactic and educational objective when demonstrating the new forms of making gastronomy with quality and initiative.

The territorial Branch gave recognition to Fidel Pimienta Torres, for his contribution in the formation of professionals of the trade, the gastronomy and the services.

During the day, there was projection of audiovisual materials, relating to the event, conferences and representative products of Artex were also marketed.
