Mayabeque, Cuba_ The Summer Film Festival brings to Mayabeque some options of cycles presented in the capital, as an initiative of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (Icaic). 

The film El techo, the last Cuban production directed by Patricia Ramos, features performances by Andrea Doimeadiós, Emmanuel Galbán and Jonathan Navarro, included in the official selection of international festivals and the award for best fiction film at the 20th Cine Las Américas International Film Festival, of Austin, Texas, will be at the Lajero movie-theater from July 22 to 29 at 8:30 pm.

The cycles will be available from Wednesday to Sunday at different hours. The terror series includes proposals such as The Shining (Stanley Kubrick), The Circle (Gore Verbinski) and The Orphanage (Juan Antonio Bayona) from 10:00 pm.

Meanwhile, in the weekend, children will enjoy films like Puppy patrol, Mickey and the Super Pilots, The Legend of the Chupacabras and Dancer at ten in the morning and at noon. In the afternoon there the is moment for comedies like Welcome Mr. Marshall, When fate hits you and The Twelve Chairs.

From July 31 to August 3 it will be the turn for films dedicated to Rock: Nirvana nevermind, The Freddy Mercury tribute, Whitesnake: live in the still of the night. These will always be at 8:30 pm, while Sex and Love will host the erotic films Battle in the Sky, Crash and the multi-award-winning controversial Nymphomaniac vol. I, by director Gus Van Sant, starting at 10:00 pm.

Besides, the public will delight in the special functions on diversity and phobias: Similar but not equal, Moonlight, Hidden Figures and Silence, all will be from two and thirty in the afternoon.

The second part of the festival will arrive in August with a diverse program under the title The Cinema You Want to See.
