Mayabeque, Cuba_ The provincial contest of literature for children “Martin Colorin”, sponsored by the Culture Houses Department and the Culture Direction in the territory, granted the awards and mentions in poetry, short stories and decimal to pioneers of the youngest province of the country, Mayabeque’s newspaper reports.

In primary education level, the prize was for the work Señora Alta from Wendy Perez Franco, in short story the awarded resuted Osiel Martinez Alonso with his work Mojados and in decima the winner was Emmanuel Castillo Martinez, with Origen, all of them from the municipality of Quivican.

Meanwhile, in secondary teaching level, the poetry prize was given to Sin Paz by Brenda Alvariño Torres from San Jose de las Lajas. Anilcie Reyes Rojas from San Nicolas won the awards in short story and decimal, with the works Juega conmigo and A mi pueblo, respectively.

According to Javier Rodriguez Romero, Literature assessor in the Culture Houses Department of Mayabeque, the contest is aimed at promoting in children and teenagers the values of solidarity and friendship since the analysis they made of the work Cochero Azul written by Dora Alonso.

The participants in the event are creative exponents of the work that age group carried out from an imaginative perspective but with the necessity of exploring new space of literary creation with their own personality, where they can show the human values that the main character of that story offers to the readers.
