Mayabeque, Cuba_ The awarding of the children's contest at the municipal level "Civil defense in action", took place in the Provincial School of Preparation for the Defense Commander "Elizardo Proenza Sánchez", in San José de las Lajas.

The initiative is part of the activities in honor of the 58th anniversary of the José Martí Pioneers Organization, to be held on April 4 and had as winners in the Visual Arts category the students Dayron Gamboa Melo and Iverson Rodríguez Grallan, from the primary school "Víctor Mestre".

According to Radio Camoa, the owner of the prize in Literature, the poetry genre, was the pioneer Nayelis Hernández Perdomo of Antonio José Oviedo High School and in Decima, the prize was for Alejandro León Grillo award, from Víctor Mestre primary school, of San José de las Lajas.

Also the pioneers were the protagonists of the cultural part of the award ceremony, with the theme "Sabere Cubanos" by Kiki Corona and "La Lupe" by Juan Almeida Bosque, interpreted by student Carel Castillo García and Juanquiel Rosales Londres, respectively.

In the meeting participated Sofía Macareño Fraga, president of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power in the capital of Mayabeque, who thanked the students for their participation in this contest that is part of the education of the new generations on such an important issue for Cuba as the civil defense is and exhorted them to extend the initiative to other centers of the territory.
