Mayabeque, Cuba_ More than 1 500 students of Medicine, Dentistry and Health technicians will participate in the destructive focal, hygiene activity taking place in Mayabeque.
According to Radio Rebelde, this action is part of the intensive campaign to fight and prevent diseases like zika, dengue, chikungunya and yellow fever, all transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes.
The work of the students will be focused in the epidemiologic surveillance as well as the prevention of illnesses provoked by the mosquito, this way the students will improve their knowledge in that area and share it with the community.
Near 1 500 persons involved in this task, are participating in the present campaign, including workers from the health sector and members of the FAR and its reserve.
Nueva Paz, Güines and Quivican and Bejucal are the most affected territories due to the environment hygiene, the unhealthiness of septic tanks and drainpipe.
