Mayabeque, Cuba_ Women play an important role in the economic and social development of the country, affirmed the Secretary General of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), Teresa María Amarelle Boué, during a tour of productive entities of the municipality of San Nicolás de Bari, located about 70 kilometers from the Cuban capital.  

"It gives me great pleasure to have been here and to share with the members of the FMC in the locality because for us it is very important, because we are at the doors of the Tenth Congress of the organization. One of the topics that we want to discuss in the main meeting of the Cuban women, in addition to those related to equality, is the one related to the family and also, how the structure increases its actions based on the updating of the Cuban economic and social model "

Amarelle Boué, defined " the tobacco sector as strategic for the country's economy" during the exchange with the females and factory workers of Rolando Concepción García factory. Therefore, she added:  the FMC must establish better relations and alliances with other organisms and institutions. "

At Hector Molina Riaño sugar mill, the Secretary General of the Federation of Cuban Women, Teresa Maria Amarelle Boué, urged the workers to participate in the process that leads the organization, due to the celebration of the next Tenth Congress.

"All of us, regardless of where we work, live, the cultural level we have, the work we do, we have a common element, the affiliation to the FMC and that is why we say that this is an expression of unity and support for the Revolution.
